WORKING TOWARDS GRAZ 2003The 2nd Convention of European Higher Education institutions is being held from 29-31 May 2003 in Graz, European City of Culture this year. This key event is organised by EUA and hosted jointly by the three universities in Graz: the Karl-Franzens-University, the Graz University of Technology and the University of Art and Music.The Graz Convention will highlight the role of higher education institutions in driving reform at European level through the Bologna process. The aims of the EUA are to formulate a coherent message from the higher education institutions and to strengthen the role of the institutions in the creation of the European Higher Education Area. 600 higher education leaders across Europe are expected to attend the Convention. The outcomes of the Graz Convention will be presented by EUA as the contribution from the higher education institutions to the next Conference of European Education Ministers in Berlin in September 2003. In addition to pushing forward the main action lines of the Bologna Declaration of 1999 and the Prague Communiqué of 2001, the main themes of the Graz Convention are:
